When developing “Mondays,” I’m learning what a painstaking process animation is. My part as the writer is the easiest bit. Each scene takes hundreds of hours of patient work from a whole group of specialists with different roles. The production company also decided to make “Mondays” without speech, so I’ve been working out how to develop story lines that rely entirely on movement. In my mind’s eye I’ve been working like a mime artist, imagining the characters on a scene in front of me.

“Mondays” makes a welcome addition to my work on developing “The Cat Detectives,” also a cartoon series and featuring two cats for Childrens TV. I’m beginning to think like an animator and writing without dialogue has stretched my writing abilities for – I hope – the better.
